Hindustan Chamber of Commerce
Hindustan Chamber of Commerce a premier apex body/chamber was established way back in 1897, by few textile trade visionaries with a view not only to safeguard the interests of our Indian textile trade and industrial community but also to spearhead the very thought of promoting our textile trade interests against onslaught of Imperial regime and its trade practices. Since, then, this chamber is playing a role of a Torch-Bearer to our textile trade/industrial community as regard to Government Textile Policy Factors and related issues. Hindustan Chamber of Commerce has now grown exponentially with present number of membership touching 1900 business houses comprising of Manufacturers, Processors, Wholesalers, Exporters, and Commission Agents etc., engaged in textile trade. In the pre-independence days, our Chamber lent active support to the freedom struggle, development of nationalist spirit & spread of Swadeshi Movement.
Hindustan Chamber of Commerce’s centenary celebration was inaugurated by the then Hon’ble Prime Minister of India Shri H. D. Deve Gowda on 3rd January 1997, in the presence of H. E. Governor and Hon’ble Chief Minister of Maharashtra. Hindustan Chamber of Commerce is the recipient of JAMNALAL BAJAJ UCHITVYAVAHAR PURASKAR AWARD FOR FAIR BUSINESS PRACTICES for the year 1999 and 2003 in recognition of its distinguished contribution to the promotion of code of conduct laid down by the COUNCIL FOR FAIR BUSINESS PRACTICES, MUMBAI.

Mahatma Gandhi, Babu Rajendra Prasad, Rajarishi Purushottamdas Tandon, Acharya Kripalani, Morarjee Desai, R Venkataraman, Atal Behari Vajpayee, etc., were some of the prominent visitors to our Chamber. The list also includes Chief Ministers and Ministers of various states, Heads of Government Departments, etc.
